TKD Achievements:
My attendance was ultra-high in all classes for over four
years as I went to all possible lessons right up to black belt.
Training with my son, Jack, was a real pleasure. I was also
proud to see my daughter, Abigail, pass a grading, and my wife,
Pauline, is on her way to black belt herself. Two years on, my
2nd Dan grading has whizzed past and I have come to realise that
sometimes the toughest opponent can be yourself and your own
struggle to remain motivated but that mostly it's Andy Pugh.
I do this
website and many of our articles for the newspapers.
I've won a few
fights in tournaments at Windsor though I think the ones I lost
taught me most about myself. It takes bravery to walk into a
fight knowing you'll get battered. Winning one is
fantastic, too, of course. I've got a gold
and a silver medal from Bytomic and five trophies from Suttontkd
including 'Outstanding contribution at Streetly Club', and
'Student of the Year Dec 2011'. It's nice to know that someone
thought well of me.
I have written
this super-cheap but very funny Kindle book about my time with Suttontkd and
some of the fantastic people I have trained with. The picture links to
Amazon if you would like a copy. Click me and check it out!

In the 1920s,
my father was a boxer called Jack and I named my son after him.
Our fighting family tradition remains alive and well thanks to
Anna, Richard, and Sutton Schools of Tae Kwon-Do.
